Can the blaze be mounted in a "belt" clip like the One?

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

I have not seen any topics on whether or not the Blaze will offer a clip for attaching to your belt like the One.  There are times when I want to wear my regular watches but do not want to have my other tracker (surge/flex) on my other wrist.  This would be possible since it can be removed from the bands unlinke the Surge.  I have used a belt type holder for my flex, but I want to be able to track the floors climbed.  I guess I could just carry it in my pocket.  Maybe offer something like a pocket watch case as well to protect it.

Or I could just buy a One to use...

Thanks

@tjs10000 that sounds like a great idea,  kind of like the accessaeies for the Flex, Fitbit sells a neckla e but others sell ckips and broaches dor the Flex. You might wane

Want to suggest it in the feature Request board.

I like this idea...  Maybe even have a special frame that allows you to use it like a pocket watch.

I imagine that you'd want it to have a "pocket" (or "torso") mode so it tracks accurately, or even autodetect it.

Naturally, we wouldn't expect the HR monitor to work from your pocket.

But we would want it to turn off the HR monitor so it didn't waste battery life or record false/bad HR data. Maybe it could tell which kind of frame it was popped in to set the mode, wrist vs. torso, and disable the HR.

Really good idea.  For example, I have a Charge HR, and at times, I simply don't want to wear it on my wrist.  I know I won't have HR monitoring, but at least, I'll get my steps recorded.  It's a better option than not wearing the tracker at all.

It may need a slight tweek to the watchband cradle system purely for a security perspective.

Saying that because I belive the blaze simply pushes out of the cradle when the band is not being worn on the wrist, that is, it pushes out backwards from the watchband cradle in the direction of the wrist.

If being worn as a fob watch style or in the pocket the lack of something physical behind the unit may allow it to more easily come out of the cradle?

As I haven't got one yet I'm only guessing on this but the posts I have read on how to remove the blaze from the band clearly state it only requires a "light push" to remove it.

Cheers

With the other 2 fitbits of you have the Heart rate set to auto, i does turn off whemln it doesn't see a flow of blood

@Rich_Laue Maybe the newer firmware has improved the Auto function, but last time I tried the HR turned on anytime there was movement, so having it in your pocket the HR would be on and it would record false HR information.

Yes when the camera sees a change in its environment it does flash the light a few times to see if it can now detect blood flow.

Any chance of producing an armband as another option? In most sports leagues watches are not allowed so I have rigged up a velcro strap for my Surge. It seems it would be easy to produce an armband for the Blaze that would still allow HR readings when worn above the bicep.

@kh50125 Given that the straps attach to the frame with spring loaded pins, even if Fitbit doesn't make an arm band, I can imagine that a third party, or yourself, could come up with an arm band that could be put on in place of the wrist band. (And you could have a second frame, so you could easily move the tracker between the two.)

I can't wear a watch (or any accessory above my waist) when I walk through our manufacturing facility at work so I have to take my Charge HR off every time. It would be nice to be able track all of those steps... I think a clip for the Blaze is a great idea!

@Jbasich003 please read the first 5 posts in this thread, they discuss this option and the maybe possibility of a clip, but no Fitbit will most likely will not have this option.

I would love to have a clip for the Blaze. I currently use the Zip to just track steps and have it clipped to my bra but when I work out I use my Garmin forerunner to track HR and GPS data. Having a clip or holder could mean that I could easily transistion between activities without having to use two devices and still be able to track just steps when I don't want to advertise to the whole world that I'm wearing a fitness tracker.

This is a great idea as there are times when you just don't want a visible activity monitor on your wrist but being a fanatical step/stair counter can't bear to be without your Fitbit.  I was thinking of a clip or pin option, I'm sure some creative Etsy type will have one available in no time flat.

I ordered two third party frames from China and made an armband out of leather and velcro to attach.

Originally I attached it using the spring pins but they popped off often as your arm expands and contracts which your wrist does not.

The solution I found was to wrap the leather around the top and bottom of the frame and sew it from there. The small spaces above and below the actual tracker allow for this to happen. It is very secure. It is now a single purpose frame but they are getting very inexpensive so I just ordered a few more.
