Can you re-set steps average?

Does anyone know if you can re-set your Fitbit to start from scratch and hence reset your step average per day? Preferably without deleting other data such as badges and trophies earned.

 

My current stats are calculated since 2014 and as I am soon to begin a new challenge for myself, it will be quite some time before the step average that appears in my profile changes....at least months

The step average in your profile is based on the actual steps that you are averaging. That said if the steps walked per day go down, the reported average will follow suit. 

I'm not sure if the average is based on the life of the account or just on the last "X" days like the 7 day running total is.
