Charging and power issue

I recently bought a Blaze (end of March) and aleady the battery is draining way too quickly. I used to get 4-5 days out of it in the beginning, now I'm lucky if I get 2 days on a charge.

I love my fitbit and I use it as an alarm every day, but it has proven itself unreliable as it is always randomly turning itself off. I had this issue the other night, where my fitbit had turned off after I'd gone to sleep and my alarm wouldn't have gone off in the morning if I hadn't randomly woken up an hour before it was set.

So, I'm now wondering what the fixes are for these issues, the battery not holding a charge and the fact that it keeps powering off on its own.

What can be done outside of contacting fitbit, which i would recommend.

Normally i would recommend a few cypress of letting the battery almost completly drain then charge it.  Do not leave it on the charger to long. Doing tyis i have gotten laptops from working 5 minutes up to 1.5 hours. Leaving the Blaze on the charger for to long of a time may cause internal battery damage from eccess heat.

When you say the face turns off, I'm not sure if your referring to the Blaze turning off or the display jot illuminating.

There are only two things I can think of other than what Rich suggested:

1.  The battery "life" lf my Blaze suddenly decreased dramatically and it turned out that for some reason the heart rate monitor had changed from "auto" to "on." That meant that the HR monitor was "working" even when the Fitbit was not being worn.  I went in and changed the setting back to "auto" and the problem was solved. To check the setting, from the Dashboard, clock on the cog wheel at the upper right of the screen. Click on the Blaze icon and scroll down to where it says "Heart Rate." It should be set at "auto."

2.  This may be a long-shot but it is simple and worth a try: Re-start the tracker.  Press the button on the left side of the tracker while simultaneously pressing the lower right button ion the device. Hold for about 10-15 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears.  There may be something running in the device that is draining the battery.

3.  Other than that, follow Rich's advice and contact Support--that is unless someone else has an idea we may have overlooked.

I have 2 fitbit flexes.  The last one was a replacement set and recently,  it  has the same quick power draining issue after a few months of usage.  A fully charged fitbit can be drained out within a day.   I recharged and reconnect the first set which already had battery completely drained up after idling a few months.    I observed the software reloaded and rebooted the fitbit automatically during startup and that fixed the issue.  Now,   I have 2 working fitbit flexes.

Suspect just like handphones,  fitbit sets  will require a complete reload and reboot of software after some time to refresh the program.  Resetting the unit, uninstalling and reinstalling the phone's apps may not necessarily work.   A complete power drained out will be required by leaving the set idling over a few day.  Just hope Fitbit will take note to allow a factory reset on all the fitbits.
