So just got my fitbit yesterday and wanted to begin my walking today, when I set it up everything worked perfectly however now that I actually want to use it I cannot get it to connect to my phones GPS, when clicking on walk it says "connecting to phone" and then changes to "check fitbit app". I have read load of forum posts and tried as much as I can but the problem is still there. This did work yesterday but for some reason it isnt working today. Can someone point me in the right direction please as I am strugling to find the answer to my problem. I am on Android.

thank you in advance

Also a new Blaze user and have read through the Connected GPS thread. What I gather from reading there and my own personal experience is that this service is somewhat hit-and-miss.

Sometimes mine connects beautifully and other times I need to fiddle around with it to get it to connect; Open the app, close the app, try again, force quit, try again, etc... I haven't found any method that guaruntees a connection.

Would love to hear from someone who has been able to find a consistent connection method.

First thing i hqve to ask is, what phone do you have?
Is the phones location turned on, for qndroid use high accuracy?
Is the fitbit app running at least in the background?
Is the phones Bluetooth turned on?
I dont have to but some report tyey need to be connected to the internet for this mode t9 start, then they can turn internet off.
I cant think of anything else to check?
Killing the app/restarting, turning bluetooth off/on might be worth to try if after checking the above it still doesn't work.

I have an Elephone P8000, as I said it worked perfectly so I know its not the phone, tried everything you listed numerous times and still nothing.

Making me want to return this and try a different brand, this is my first ever fitness band and really dissaponted with a basic function not even working.

I also have an Android phone (Galaxy S6 edge) and I've run into this problem several times in the past month.

I've turned off and then back on both the location services and bluetooth.  Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.

When I do these 2 things after getting the message it will work perfectly.  Restart my phone then I open the fitbit app and force a sync.

Most of the time that I have the problem it's because I was upstairs and my phone was downstairs before leaving for a run.  So if my phone didn't sync in awhile I can guarantee that I'm going to get the error.  Hope this helps!
