First time i used my new fitbit blaze everything seemed fine and i got an geographical map over my route after i was done.
So my first time i had gps working just fine.
Second time i got phone gps connection issues, after 3 tries it went on and i though it was ok, but it was not.
Then today i once again went on a hike, everything looked fine. connected to phone and had signal. Then when i got home. No map...

THIS found in another thread:
1.) GPS: I had the incorrect Location Settings on my phone. I went into my location settings on my Android phone. The setting was on "Battery Saving." I changed it to "High Accuracy" mode. I then went to my blaze watch, and then chose biking as my excercise. It started to connect to my phone. Instead of getting "Check Fit BIt App" like I always got before, it said "Let's Go" and a little icon showed the signal bar strength of the phone. Now I am not sure if this will work for everyone, or if the settings are the same for your Android phone. Just make sure you change your location settings to High Accuracy.
plus an complete "removed all bluetooth connections and did a "new device to fitbit" ". Tried the last one without doing the first bit and that didnt help. So definitive nr 1 first. (On samsung galaxy phone.)

Thanks Svennand! I had the same problem on my iphone 6 and the solution there was to change the Fitbit setting under Location Services from 'While Using the App' to 'Always'.

I have a new Fitbit Blaze with iPhone 5s. First few ridges with connected GPS were fine, but now out of 8 I've only had maps on 3. I wait to start ride until I've connected to phone and watch say s"Lets Go!" The on indication of any issue is the low value in the cell phone signal like icon near the phone icon. Only the lowest bar on left is red. Phone is in pocket on side I wear my watch. Can't get much closer than that.
Any ideas?

Welcome to the Community @DavidBoulder! I would like you to make sure that you're following this procedure to use connected GPS. Also, here are some tips in case the GPS isn't working.
Hope this helps. Let me know how it goes.

@SilviaFitbit, yes I'm following those procedures, including the fitbit iOS app always having access to location. I'm not hitting either of the errors under "What errors might I run into" . I'm seeing a "Let's Go!" and the phone icon in upper left of screen.

After re-starting both the phone and the Fitbit Blaze Things seemed to be better. Instead of seeing red bar as shown earlier in thread I see all four bars of signal strength as "green", and GPS has been logged for both runs and bike rides. But now the red bar as shown is back, and restarting both devices didn't fix it 😞 I tried moving my phone farther away, and even moving it closer and touching it to the blaze. No luck getting it back. Have not had any issues with other bluetooth devices and my phone; and I don't have ay issue with Blaze syncing with my phone or getting notifications from it.

These keeps coming back and going away. Sometimes restarting both devices works, other times it doesn't. I suspect maybe hardware issue, but what could affect connecting to phone for GPS but not affect syncing and notifications, or are syncing and notifications just more resilient to week connection.
Then the next question is why is the connection weak? I typically have phone in pants pocket on same side of body as watch. I've tried putting some space between then (10') or almost touching them together. I've had failures connecting in all three situations.
