Folks, I have recently started using mobile run with my FitBit Charge HR.
What exactly is the difference between Mobile Run and Connected GPS?
Is it that with Mobile Run I 'initiate' the exercise mode from the mobile phone, and it tracks the Fitbit device and uses the data from both devices?
While Connected GPS I 'initiate' the exercise from the FitBit Blaze and it tracks the mobile phone and uses the data from both devices?

On some of my hikes I've used the Blaze with Connected GPS and the S Health app on my phone. They have both reported the same distance. Same thing on walks. That is all I have tested it with.

If the blaze is connected to your phone it will use your phone's GPS to calculate distance, not the stride length. If you choose, you can have it auto adjust your stride length. This has never been an issue with me. When I run without GPS, the blaze uses my stride length. I know this because of the average time per mile when running. When using the stride length it is roughly the same even if i run at varying speeds. When I connect via GPS, it more accurately measures distance ran. When I run faster (a larger stride length) it gives me a faster time. The distance is always accurate when I have the GPS connected. I recently ran a half marathon through a golf course and my blaze was connected via gps. It measured the same distance as MapMyRun.
Most likely anyone having issues with this either is not connecting correctly or has an incompatible device that is causing issues with the Blaze.
That being said, I do think fitbit should be actively working on supporting newer devices since the phone market is changing and some older devices are steadily getting replaced with new devices, leading to compatibility issues.

I'm not sure if you are still using your blaze however.... i had a lot of issues with the distance as well until a conversation with my phone provider and they gave me some good advice. Turn off your wi fi when on a run and it will track properly. I have been now turning the wifi off when i leave my house and it tracks perfectly. I can totally understand how frustrating it is when it doesn't track properly and i was at my wits end. but now i'm loving the blaze again. Hope this helps
