With my Charge I would charge overnight once I got my low battery alert. With the Surge I like the nightly heartrate stats and wondering if charging it daily while in the shower is OK? Maybe once a month I'll let it drain fully before charging overnight to keep the battery calibration.

This is an interesting question and I hope Fitbit gives their official response. I charge 5-10 a couple times a day, while driving and while in teh shower.....and for the most part it keeps it about 80%. Should I be letting it get low?
Great question!

You shouldn't need to charge it daily. Just when your battery is falling low. The Blaze is supposed to last 5 days and i'm finding it lasting 6 or 7 days so far.
I wouldn't shower with it, since it's not waterproof, just water resistant. I used to do that with my flex and found that the battery life was shortened the more I got it wet.

Here is some general info on lithium batteries, and charging. This is easily Googled.
You don't want them to discharge completly, and don't want to charge them completly. So in theory a daily partial charge, that brings the battery up to about 80% would be fine.
A slower charge will give off less heat, amd give a more uniform charge.

Thank you rich, I was not sure it the battery was a standard lithium or not, but I guess google could have told me that. Your post though was the first answer I saw to the original question, and my question in the second post. The OP and myself udnerstand that you "don't need to" charge it daily, but it is a habit of charging when in the shower or in the car for me, so it keeps it closer to the 80%+ range all of the time.
The question was not "how often" but is it bad to charge that often. Thanks!
