After charging your settings, do you do a sync?

Also happens to me each time (with or without a sync). Each time I have to restart my phone the app defaults to the app notifications that I selected when I initially set up the device even though I later decided to change them to reduce the number of notifications. However, I was told that since I don't have an "officially supported device" that it wasn't something they could help with. Android users get tossed aside as usual. Even when using modern hardware.

It is not so much that we get tossed aside, but the open vs closed philosophy of Google comoared to Apple or windows.
Googles feeling is the manufacturer may use whatever hardware they want, then modify the android OS to accommodate, they are also allowed to add or even remove features. If you get a cell phone through your cellular provider, they have also added their own twist of changes.
With Microsoft they let the manufacturer choose the hardware, but keep a tight control of the operating changes that may be made by all.
With iOS they are both the manufacturer and the developer of the OS. There is no second party between them and the cellular provider. The phone is setup Apples way period.
This makes Apple one if the easiest for Fitbit to make apps for, with few changes needed between OS versions.
On the other hand, with a google phone, the app may need to be customized for each seperate phone model.
That said I will take an Android any day over Apple or MS

That's why I bought a Motorola Moto X Pure Edition. No carrier crap and Motorola does minimal to the software as far as "skinning" anything. But still many companies hear Android and then just give an excuse why something works. I know it can't be easy but it's extremely tiresome to so frequently get that answer. And I've unfortunately gotten that answer from Fitbit more than once. It becomes very frustrating when trying to report an issue. I go through rounds of email/Twitter support and then once they find out my device isn't on the list they stop.

Pure as when refferring to the Android OS i agree, but there is there a Google standard for Android Hardware? And since Fitbit embeds their drivers rather deeply bypassing some of the standard ones in te OS, they still will need to contend with the hardware.
