Defective Blaze, shorting all Exercise Steps

Ever since the firmware update, my Blaze has been a hunk of junk.  It counts normal, every day steps just fine, even counted steps walking around Chicago this weekend OK because we tested it against my husband's iPhone and they were close.  BUT, when I work out or use the Exercise functions, it constantly shorts me steps and miles.  I did a test tonight using my Blaze and my Endomondo app on my phone and are including the pictures here - as you can see, Fitbit shorted me .82 miles and by my rough calculations, around 2,700 steps, even though both products tracked my workout through GPS!

I finally took the time to call Customer Service tonight and they passed me through immediately to a special Blaze issue team and after doing a few diagnostics - rebooting the Blaze, doing a 100 step test around my house, which displayed 111 on my unit, the exact opposite problem I was calling for, my rep deemed my unit was defective.  They are sending me a replacement for free and I don't even have to return this Blaze - recycle it, throw it away, give it away, so $200 down the drain for Fitbit, without even blinking an eye.

They obviously are far from perfectly this product so my advice?  Don't waste your time trying to do too much troubleshooting on your own - I think they know most of these initial units don't work and are prepared to replace them as they keep trying to make them work correctly.  Hopefully these newer Blazes we get will work a little better but let's be honest, how much do you think they have been able to improve their reliability in just a month and a half since release?   I will try one more time and if it doesn't work, go back to my Flex or look at another fitness tracker provider.  I thought about an Alta but I really like the watch like functionality of the Blaze.   Good luck, everyone!Fitbit test 1.jpgFitbit test 2.jpg
