Duplicate and delayed e-mail notifications

I saw some people having issues with duplicate text notifications before the update, but I am having issues with duplicate e-mail notifications since then. I'm using an iPhone 6 on Verizon. I only have it set up to send notifications for my work e-mail, which I access through Gmail. I nearly always get at least 2 notifications for each e-mail, sometimes 3, 4, or more.

 

The other problem that I find is that often it will not send any notification to me until I turn my phone on and see the message alert on my phone first. This defeats the purpose of the notification. I am attempting to be notified in a very timely manner of my work e-mails, as I'm a part-time contractor and do not wish to sit monitoring my inbox all day long, but do wish to be responsive when I have e-mails that need attention.

 

Is anyone else experiencing issues with the e-mail alerts? Thanks!

A warm welcome to the Community @lunajumper! Thank you so much for taking the time to report this. Currently, our engineers are investigating the excess notifications that you're getting in your Fitbit tracker. As soon as I have any update, I'll post it here. 

 

Regarding your second question, I believe it depends on the phone that you have because I tried using an iPhone and it actually turn on when it received the notification. However, while using an Android it didn't turn on with the message notification. (You may want to change it in your phone settings, so it can the screen can turn on)
