I almost returned my new Blaze because I could not sync to my Windows 8.1 phone...but here is how you fix it...
Problems:
1. Blaze would not sync to my Windows 8.1 phone.
2. Fitbit mobile app used to work with my old Flex and Charge but not with Blaze.
3. Could not see live steps or HR on my mobile app.
Steps to solve:
1. Go to this Youtube video to update your Windows 8.1 phone to a Windows 10 phone:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VnBxPwtYFeM
2. Once you follow the steps in the video and successfully upgrade your phone to Windows 10, then you will need to update the Fitbit app to the Windows 10 version.
3. You will know you have the Windows 10 Fitbit app because the Blaze option will be available when you choose to connect a new tracker.
NOTE: The steps to upgrading from Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 takes a couple hours (or more) using high speed wifi...BE PATIENT...it does work! And you may seem like you have to keep going back to Windows Insider and choosing Fast Track a couple times.
HINT: When you have completed the steps for Windows Insider Fast Track...go to your Windows phone settings...then Phone update...check for updates. You may have to do this a couple times also.
This took me about a total of 4 hours of rebooting and retrying till I got it right...but it worked.
Now my Blaze syncs easily with my Windows phone and I can see live steps and HR.

Quick question...now that you have updated to Win phone 10, does the GPS connect now work when doing an exercise such as a run, bike or walk? I've got Win Phone 8.1 and wondering about upgrading to a Win 10 phone however curious to know if the GPS function will work in Win phone 10.

yes...the GPS works with my Windows 10 phone...but I did not try it when i had 8.1. I have only used the GPS in walk/run mode...have not tried it with a bike.
