Error message when trying to add friends

Recently, when I attempt to add friends to my community, especially those I am aware have devices and have also tried to add me, I get an error message. I've attempted updating my phone, restarting the app and deleting/reinstalling the app. With of these strategies,  I continue to get the error message. Thoughts? Has anyone else encountered these issues?

I'm sorry to hear you're having problems adding friend to your Fitbit account. Now, I'd like to know first, where is it that you're trying to add them, what's the procedure you're following and what's the error message your getting. In order to add friends, go to the Community tab at the bottom of your app, then tap on the Friends tab at the top of the screen, then tap on Add Friends and here you should be able to choose them from your contacts (you need to have the email which they are using for their Fitbit account saved on the contact details for them to appear here), you can choose Facebook friends where they also need to have created they Facebook account with the email address they're using with Fitbit and have an active Fitbit account or you can send them an email.

Hello Ferdinand,

Thank you for your response. When I have attempted to add friends to my
fitbit community, I have followed the instructions and procedures your
explained in your email. Also the individuals I've attempted to add so in
fact appear within the fitbit friends list and they're known fitbit friends
outside of the app as well as within the app 😉

Each time I do attempt these individuals or add emails for known fitbit
friends I receive the error message that I've attached in a screen shot.
Hope I've given you some more information so as to better understand my
difficulties. Thank you again for your understanding and support with this
issue.

Hi Ferdinand, 

 

In spite of my best attempt to mark your solution, as did not work....the system would not let me. Sadly, I am still unable to add friends and continue to receive the same error even though I am following your recommended procedure 😔

 

As such, I remain disheartened and unable to add additional friends!
