Hi!
Sometimes I forget to start and/or stop the exercise mode shortcut on my Fitbit Blaze so I then go to the app and manually log the exercise (and delete the one from my blaze if there was one originally). Today I forgot to "finish" tracking my treadmill run on my Blaze, so it kept on going in exercise mode for quite a bit. In order to keep an accurate log of my running, I deleted that run and then proceeded to log it manually based on start time, duration and type of exercise (treadmill). The resulting workout was around 200 calories more than the one tracked by the Blaze So I'm just wondering - what is this discrepancy based on? and which one is correct/ more accurate?
Here's a breakdown of the two and what the treadmill itself showed on the screen:
Treadmill run tracked on Blaze using Exercise Mode/ Treadmill (approximately, I didn't memorize it): 660 calories, 1hr 45min long, 5.7 miles
Treadmill run manually logged on the fitbit app: 813 calories, 50min
Treadmill run based on the treadmill (I know it is not accurate, but just for reference): 678 calories, 50min, 5.49 miles
Thanks for your help!
Valeria

Hey there @valepop. Good to see you in the Fitbit Community! 🙂
The difference here is that with the exercise mode, it will record your real activity in real time and when you log the activities, it's just for you to have an idea of how you did during that time frame or to keep a log of what you've done but will not be as accurate as the exercise mode because it will do a calculation of the calories you burned, steps you took, distance, etc. Also, manually logged activities don't count towards daily totals so even if it appears on your dashboard, if you're let's say on a challenge with more people, manually logged activities will not count towards your step totals on your challenge.
Hope this answers your question. Let me know if you need more help!
