I work with my hands both as much as the other. I do think I am getting inaccurate steps. I noticed even when doing my hair in the morning, it is tracking as steps and I didn't take steps at all. How do you solve this problem with vigorous hand movements being tracked as steps, other than take it on and off all day?

Hi there @cathdmd. Great to see you in the Fitbit Community Forums! 🙂
I can sure help you out with this!
Fitbit devices have a finely tuned algorithm for step counting. The algorithm is designed to look for intensity and motion patterns that are most indicative of people walking and running. When working at a desk, cooking, or doing other arm movements, a device on your wrist can pick up some extra steps if it thinks you're walking. Many of these situations—such as working or cooking—do include a few steps in-between stationary periods so the device tries to give you credit for those steps. For the vast majority of customers, the amount of stray steps accumulated is negligible when compared to the entire day.
If you feel like the extra steps are too much, you can also delete them by logging a "Driving' activity. For this, go to the Track Exercise section on the dashboard and tap on the plus sign to log the activity for the time frame you see the extra steps and that should take care of it.
Let me know how if you need more help with this!
