Firmware Update Help!

I noticed that my blaze is a couple firmware updates behind. I have put it in the charging case and plugged it into the computer, but I have no idea how to actually "update" it. Can someone please help? I'm still on the 17.8.200.3 version...

See my revised thoughts below. It appears even Gold Blaze owners are on hold for the firmwear. They may have been ill advised to advertise it if they weren't ready to release it. Just my humble opinion.

I am honestly extremely confused with this update because I have gotten so many mixed responses from FitBit Customer support. I purchased the Gunmetal Blaze just yesterday and I don't have this "new update" They're promising, it's in the same "Special edition" catagory as the Gold Series so I don't see how only one of the two special editons would get some sort of exclusive update before everyone else, this is all just extremely confusing right now. Hopefully we learn more soon.

For sure, I understand it being frustrating.  I remember being told by moderators that the reminder to move would come out soon after the release of the Alta and that has definitely not happened.  Perhaps my definition of soon is not the same as fitbits or there were some issues creating the update to the firmware but does seem to be slow given how quickly we see upgrades in technology.  In the mean time, I have really enjoyed my Blaze and finding new ways for it to work with me.  Glad we have at least now been told officiallly it will be released in September and hopefully will see the update soon.  It would make sense that it would be pretty quick now if they plan to roll it out to everyone by the end of September which I really hope is the case.

My guess is they were trying to come out with the firmware upgrade before any new apple watch and other competition announcements could possibly steal sales and they missed the date because of problems.

And if they weren't trying to, they should be now to avoid losing sales.  Just a guess.

But many companies - including apple - come out with their products at the last "minute" of what they said, i.e. by end of first quarter ends up being the last week of March, etc. so I'm sure many will say that technically they may not come out with anything until the very end of the month.

Still, this is generally the biggest selling time of the year for many products so let's hope they come out with something to preserve customer brand loyalty or tey may see a lot of people switch when it's time for their Christmas shopping.

marcuslynch no you aren't the only one. I too am thinking about dumping the Blaze and going with the new Apple Watch. I am soooo frustrated with the lack of information provided by Fitbit themselves as to plans and such.

You will see it in the app, an arrow telling you an update is available. It is rolling out in waves so need to wait until it reaches your account.

@HOLLY21 As@mcrmama, if you have an iPhone you will see an arrow, on android it will be a red banner, I'm not sure what the MS phone shows, and you will also see a banner on the Fitbit website.
