Hold down the single button and the lower button on the two button side for
twenty seconds, the screen will go black then reboot. Should do the job.
If not, then run the battery all the way down in fact after it is run down
wait 12 to 24 hours to make sure. Then recharge and software should reboot
to factory settings.

I know I am replying to a month old reply, but I wanted to update everyone. My wife's brand new device (a Charge 3 not a blaze) still does not work properly. It sporadically loses it text notifications and I have to go through a process to reset it. It then works for a day to a week. I have given up with trying anything else because support just keeps tells us the same exact this that we read on this thread and others.

Regarding my Blaze, none of the suggestions work. I have decided that the issue is the device is just too old and does not function any longer, so it has been shelved. And before anyone tries to give me suggestions, I HAVE TRIED THEM ALL. Numerous times over. Sometimes a device just breaks and cannot be fixed. I appreciate all the help everyone gave and am glad that some of the solutions do work for others. Keep on Jogging.

Hi there Snow10. Have you allowed your battery to completely run out, and
shut down? If not please try, and on restart, and when the battery is
fully charged, it should be in full working condition.

Good luck.

Have you tried running the battery all the way down? When it is fully
discharged wait another 12 hrs then recharge. After fully charged try the
two button thing, hope this helps.

Both green lights flashing. When Heart Rate set to auto, I just see -- when heart rate is set to on, I only see 70, no variation in heart rate. I've rebooted and this is exactly the same.

Hi Jogger.
Well, not sure what to do with that scenario, apart from the obvious
resets, although my Blaze has completely died, without any blip or view of
a revival. This occurred after I had noticed an obvious error with my heart
rate. Showing 80, when I was blasting away on a spin bike, showing my heart
rate at 124?
Really sorry I cannot be of anymore help.

Try letting the battery run all the way down then wait 12 + hours before
recharging then try the two button hold. Good luc.

No luck Jogger. The piece is completely dead. Nothing at all from it.
It was a fairly full battery when it spent its last breath.

Never mind, probably looking at a Garmin replacement. Great to have offered
and received suggestions over the last few years.

Take care.

Fitbit Blaze heart monitor stopped working:  The green lights come on, but it won't detect the HR.  I have done it all. Rebooted, cleaned it, checked to see if it was on/off, synced it.  I don't know what else to try.  Thank you for your help!

Hi the heart rate monitor on my Blaze has not been working for almost a week now. The green lights are still blinking, though it seems like it's doing it less. I've tried restarting and shutting it down as well and that hasn't worked. I've also tried switching arms, making sure the heart rate function is on, then on auto, and that has not worked as well.

This is similar to me. Blaze has worked fine since August 2018, but yesterday heart rate stopped working properly. When it is set to Auto, the LEDs blink and it reads 70 briefly, then displays “- -“. I had charged it on Saturday evening, but by Sunday evening, it was needing charged again. I set heart rate to ON and it has recorded my heart rate over night absolutely fine. I should note that it does seem to record my heart rate when I’m moving, but not stationary. It appears to have measured my heart rate for a run yesterday, but as soon as I got comfy on a sun lounger, it stopped recording.

When set to Auto, the LEDs blink briefly, then turn off, similar to when you take the tracker off and set it down on a surface.

I’ve shut down the tracker, I’ve restarted the tracker (using the home and bottom buttons) multiple times. I’ve cleaned the lens of the heart rate LEDs and still the same thing is happening.

I was toying with getting a different tracker, either a Garmin or Apple Watch, so this might just speed things up!
