Fitbit App wrong Timezone

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Hello,

I am currently in Singapore and my Fitbit will not change to the new Time Zone. My iPhone Automatically has changed from London Time to Singapore. I have been in My Fitbit App's settings and pressed the change Timezone automatically repeated and even manually tried to change it.

It will say Singapore in the Time Zone box in the app for about 10 seconds before going back to London.

I have done a reset on my Fitbit any way to help me?

Anxious to see if you find a solution....my time zone is locked to Chicago and is acting the same way you describe....

How do we get FitBits attention on the matter instead of the usual.. well if you go into your settings rubbish. Like we haven't tried that

I also put a post up about this issue, but no response.  Its just unacceptable to suffer these software faults when the function worked well before.  The lack of system testing by Fitbit code developers is clearly symptomatic of of them trying to save cost and have users test for free.  If that is what they think of their customers, then it makes you think twice about buying their products in future.

I just got a flex 2 Yesterday and my app is locked to a different zone than my current one. Not sure what's going on with the app. Tried unsinstalking and re-installing it but still for some reason it's locked to a different time zone and no matter how many times I manually change it, it reverts back to the old time zone. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

AJ

I have a Blaze which is now set 4 hours ahead of my actual time zone ... don't know why, but since the batteries went flat I can change settings, reinstall, blablabla, but nothing helps.

The advice I got was to reset my blaze (which does not work either, I see the logo appear) but then I cannot add another device anymore..  as it remembers my email address..

Totally agree with you! It is pretty obvious that the App has problems & Fitbit has so far been unable to come up with a solution.

I'm reaching out directly to an agent.....I'll share any info I get.

Well......Like all of you, I have tried everything already suggested.  And nothing worked.

This AM, while on an online chat with an agent, I went to the Fitbit website and changed my timezone on my PC, then added my Blaze back in as new and.......I have the right timezone.

I asked if there was something that the Agent did, or if it was luck....he said that he did NOTHING, so either they have fixed the bug and we all just need to try again, or it truly was luck.

Here's the conversation if it helps anyone else.......Good luck.

Herber : Hi Matt, my name is Herber. How can I help you?
Me /: There is an issue with setting the timezone on my blaze, and the issue is shared with a lot of others......it will not change from CHICAGO timezone
Me : Yes, I've reset my Blaze, yes, I've logged in and gone to advanced settings......
Me : It will change to EST (Toronto) for a split second and then swithches back to Chicago
Herber : I am sorry to hear that you're having issues changing the timezone on your account, I appreciate the information provided.
Herber : To better assist you, could you please confirm the email address associated to your Fitbit account?
Me : XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX@XXXXXXXXXXXXXXx.com
Herber : Thanks
Herber : Do you get any error message when you try to change the timezone?
Me : No. It changes, then just changes back....
Herber : Okay and are you using the mobile app to change it?
Me : Yes
Herber : Thanks
Herber : Please let's try to change the timezone settings using the online Dashboard or a PC. Please go to https://www.fitbit.com/user/profile/edit and scroll down
Me : It is set to Toronto.....
Me : I've already done that...
Herber (: Okay and you want to set it to Toronto time, correct?
Me : That is correct.
Herber : Thanks. Please let's try to set up your Fitbit Blaze as a new device using the app on your phone. This should help your Fitbit to recognize the correct timezone.
Herber : Go to the app and tap on the account tab, select set up a new device and choose the Blaze.
Me : I've done this 5 times......but somehow it has picked up the right timezone this time. Thanks.

Herber : That's great. I am glad to know that it's working now
Herber : Is there anything else I can do for you today?
Me : Have somebody address this with all of the online forums that are open regarding this issue........
Herber : I appreciate your concern with this Matt and yes, our team is aware about this situation and is currently working to have this bug fixed as soon as possible.
Me: Did you have to do something? I will share with the people in the discussion forum, or was it luck? Does each person need to reach out and have an online chat?
Herber : Not really, you didn't all on your end. This usually is what we suggest when the Fitbit is not recognizing the timezone settings and I am sure that other users will appreciate the workaround if you share it.
Herber : They may need to get in touch with our support just in case that workaround doesn't help to resolve the issue.

I have FINALLY been able to reset my time clock of my BLAZE watch back to normal time and to sync it with my Iphone

Since I did not get anything from FITBIT themselves (!) I found this Youtube Video which worked in the end.. One advice.. don't let your BLAZE die on power as I think the problem will reproduce itself.

Here's the link..  The Vid mentions "plub into the wall with your cable" . not sure what that means (as plugging it into the power cable does not allow you to push any button ) but I pushed the left button for about 12 seconds..

Good luck everyone.
