Several days recently my blaze starts the day with a couple of thousand calories over, it seems to be doubling my estimate for the day from midnight onwards

A warm welcome to the Community @Paul401! Thanks for the screenshots that you've attached. I would like you to double check that there's no activity logged during that period of time because this could give you extra calories burned. One thing I noticed is that sometimes when people log activities, they accidentally log more hours for duration and this will show as too many calories burned in the next day.
Note: Every day you should see calories burned in your Dashboard because of your basal metabolic rate (BMR). Also, make sure that all your personal information is properly entered.
Hope this helps! Let me know how it goes.
