I bought a fitbitblaze thinking I would try it and like it my girlfriend could use it. I have an iPhone 6 running IOS 10 and she has an iPhone 5 running IOS 8.
I cycle twice everyday and most weekends and run 2 or 3 times a week.
I bought a fitbit blaze on the basis it would work for both forms of exercise. While the heartrate is accurate when I run, it is wildly inaccurate when I cycle. Even when cycling hard for 35 minutes it usually tells me that my average bpm is less than 80bpm and sometimes even less than 70! I have tried adjusting the strap, moving it up my wrist and my hand position on the bike but I still do not get accurate results. This means that the calorie count is massively out and after cycling for 32 minutes the Fitbit app tells me that the cycle ride has contributed 0 minutes (yes, 0) to my daily active minutes. Also, the GPS is not accurate so to get an accurate route and distance I have to use strava and let that 'reverse sync' with the app rather than using exercise mode on the blaze. As the heartrate, calorie count, GPS and number of minutes exercised are wrong, the fitbit blaze actually does less than Strava does.
So far, so bad, but plan B was that my girlfriend would use it. She was very close to buying one having checked fitbits website which states "Minimum OS: iOS 8 or newer" and lists claendar, text and phone notifications as compatible features, but decided she would wait and see my experience. She was delighted when I said it didnt work for cycling as she doesnt cycle and enthusiastically decided to try it out. However, when setting it up for her, she is unable to download the fitbit app which says on the appstore it requires IOS 9 or later. Because the iphone 5 is an older device, she does not want to upgrade the operating system and shouldnt have to. Fitbits website still says the Blaze will work with IOS8 on iphone 5. Therefore, if my girlfriend is to use it she will have hugely limited functionality. Thank goodness she didnt buy a second one and decided to wait.
In short, I am a hugely dissatisfied customer who has been massivley missold someting in terms of its functionality and compatibility with hardware and I would like a refund. In my view, this is a product which is not fit for the purpose for which it is described and sold. I purchased the Blaze from Argos so cannot take it back under their 14 day money nack guarantee as it has now been used so would like fitbit to refund my money and I will gladly send the fitbit to you.
I would be grateful if someone from customer services could please get in touch with me to resolve this.

Welcome to the forums @andrewblaze
This is the community forum where other Fitbit users share their thoughts and suggestions.
You'll find customer support at this link - click
There is a phone number for the USA, an online chat option and web based email for those out of the area.
Had you bought it from Fitbit directly, you'd have 45 days from the date of purchase to return it for a full refund. Click to learn more about the return policy.
If you buy your Fitbit at a retailer that isn't authorized, then you may not have a warranty, so it's always good to know who the seller is. Check out the list of authorized retailers - click
The Argos site lists a 30 day return - click - but I'm not familar with that company.
Anyway, you'll need to get in touch with customer support, but I'm not sure they would be able to help you with this matter.

Hi, @andrewblaze, under UK legislation, as you are probably aware, the retailer is the first point of contact for warranty issues. If you believe that the Blaze is "not fit for the purpose for which it was sold" (one of the grounds for "rejecting" a product under UK rules), you will have to convince Argos of that. However, they are not obliged to offer you a refund -- they might offer to exchange your Blaze for a different Blaze -- or they might simply dispute your assertion.
It is always a good plan to get in touch with Customer Support, as @Odyssey13 suggests. They may be able to help you get it set up for your girl friend's phone, or to get it working better for you.
