Hi there,
I got my Fitbit Blaze just under a week ago and am loving it so far. However I have noticed that my step counter is a little over zealous 🙂 By just making a cup of tea I gain +- 20 steps and changing my pair of pants gains me +- 40 steps. It is on my non-dominant hand and I've put it to a dominant setting on my app cause I read that that is the best. I am not expecting my step counter to be 100% accurate but is there anything else I can do to make it less sensitive to arm movements? Is this normal?
Thank you!

Hi, @ClaireWarnett, your settings are correct for making it less sensitive and there isn't another way of adjusting further. With all wrist worn trackers you will get some false hand "steps", but you will also probablŷ find you miss some too. When I had my first Fitbit I did worry about this, especially about over counting -- so much so that I bought a Fitbit One (which you wear on your body and has been rated one of the most accurate step trackers). I set it up on a different account and wore both together for some weeks. In the end, I found the numbers were remarkably close and I quit worrying about it.
I do take off my wrist trackers when I am doing something that I know gives me a lot of extra steps -- folding laundry seems for me the worst, but other than that I figure that 20 steps here or there is a very small per cent of an active day -- almost always well within the 5% error margin.
