Realizing that I can not swim while wearing the device, can I pack it a plastic bag while at the beach and still have it track my steps while walking?  (Not swimming)

Hi @Bob183! Welcome to the Fitbit Community! 🙂

I'd say it's safe to pack your Blaze and carry it with you while walking for it to track your steps. Now, however, the result might not be very accurate. The Fitbit Blaze is designed to be worn on your wrist and the motion of swinging your arm is what tells your tracker whether or not you're walking and the accelerometer will interpret this as steps. Now, when you're just carrying it with you without swinging your arms, will definitely pick up steps but might not pick them all so it would be matter of doing a step test and take say 50 steps while you're wearing it on your wrist and after that, take 50 steps while just carrying your tracker with you and see if there is a big difference so you can make a decision of doing this or not at the beach.

Whatever the result is, let us know. Other users with the same question will be thankful for this! 🙂
