Fitbit Blaze wont sync/connect

I have tried every option listed on the helps and in various other topics.

 

  • restarting blaze (several times and in several sequences with restarting app, etc)
  • restarting app (with and without a force stop)
  • reinstalling app
  • re-pairing blaze (several times and in several sequences with restarting app, etc)

once i reinstalled the app, now it doesn't show my blaze at all. it will pair with my phone but not with the app.
