It shouldn't be a problem having both accounts each with a different email address. I would recommend going to ParkRun site and from there, try to connect to Fitbit and see how it goes after that!

I agree, the general procedure is to go to the third party app site or app.. Log into your account, then go to its connect to Fitbit page.. From here you are directed to the Fit bits acceptance page.. This is where a confirmation to connect to the account that your logged into on Fitbit..
The email address is never looked at.
