I sleep with my tracker to track my sleeping. This has been accurate. Morning, so I wake up, I have steps counted before I even stepped out of bed. Today I had started with 7 steps to over 200 in less than 10min. I called fitbit three times about this issue. They offered to replace it. I said no, I will return to store. I did and decided to give it one last try before switching to a different brand. They only had the charge 2 but I was able to get another shipped from another store brand new and sealed in package. Everyone I kno has the fitbit so it makes it fun to compete.

I have seen a lot post about phantom steps being recorded. Some while driving, typing, and now sleeping. I am of the opinion that they got a batch of defective sensors that are way too sensitive. Which would cause them to record phantom steps. Let them keep replacing it until you get good one.

This is normal. We have a sensor strapped to our arms that's designed to track movement. Depending how much you move in your sleep on any given night a number of steps will be recorded.
I've seen anything from 0 to a couple of hundred over the last few years. When I'm looking at a step goal of 10,000, however, 200 really makes no difference.

Yes, there was a few being returned due to that issue or just not syncing the the phone. I haven't gotten the new one yet but I think I will just order a polar to go with my chest strap.
