Fitbit blaze won't sync with Nexus 6P

My son has a Nexus 6P phone, and just got the Fitbit Blaze for Christmas.  The Blaze has paired with the Nexus, but when trying to sync it just says "Sync Error - Try Again". We have tried every troubleshooting idea we could find on other strings, but to no avail. HELP!

I have the nexus and this am it wouldnt sync so i restarted the phone and then it was fine

We spent 45 minutes on a phone call with Fitbit support, and none of their procedures could fix the problem.

Did it sync at all with the phone? like after you enter the 4 digit numbers.
