I've just bought my Fitbit I went to set it up and it said the battery was too low so I've plugged it in there no evidence on the screen that it is charging. I've tried different ports and still nothing

Unfortunately, the battery charging indicator will not show until the setup is complete - it will only show the setup URL. Give it an hour or so on charge, then go through the setup and then you can complete the charge (and this time you'll see the charging indicator).
