Fitbit is freezing while charging

My Fitbit will stop charging and have a freezing symbol appear. The house is between 70 and 75 so it isn't really cold. I have tried to restart it but they same symbol comes up. I left it alone off the charger and it returned to its normal state. However as soon as I tried to charge it again it gave me the freezing symbol. Again after leaving it alone it returns to normal. I don't know how I am supposed to charge it now.
