GPS while hiking

When hiking I sync the Blaze with my iPhone GPS. To track distance both the Blaze and the phone are using the iPhone GPS. When I finish a hike, the Blaze reports a total distance about 83% of the iPhone recorded distance (or conversely, the iPhone reports a distance 20% more than the Blaze).  But both are using the same GPS - the iPhone's GPS. How is this possible and which one is correct?

Very few phones are set to use GPS only but also use the cell network to stabilize the GPS readings that can be quit inaccurate depending on the atmospheric conditions and location.

Have you tried your path multiple times, with each spp running by itself?

I find for accuracy i need to clear out memory on my phone.

I see no mention of what exercise, it has been reported tyat tyere is aproblem with cycling but i dont remembe4 the tracker model, or if it affects more than one model.

My thought, try the path 4 times, 2 with just fitbit, 2 with whatever the other app is.

Thanks for your input. On a measured trail, the iPhone GPS tracked a little long and the Blaze tracked a little short. I’ll settle for the difference.
