Hi, @TamT, if you get that message it means that your Blaze was not able to launch connected GPS on your phone.

This happens to me quite a lot.

Things to check:

1. Your Blaze must not be paired/ bonded to another device.  For example, if you have been checking your stats on your iPad, you will need to turn Bluetooth off on your iPad before you can launch connected GPS on your phone.  The Fitbit can only be paired to one device at a time.

2. Your Blaze needs to be "paired" to your phone.  This means that you probably will have to have turned on "notifications" at some point to prompt the pairing.  I find that notifications don't need to stay on after the initial pairing, but if yours are turned off or disabled, it might be worth enabling / turning on notifications to see if that helps.

3. To make the initial connection with your phone you need to have internet (cellular or wifi) available.  After the initial connection is made this can be off or unavailable (I run with a phone that has no SIM, so no data, but I do need to initiate the connection at home or wherever I have wifi)

4.  Sometimes you just have to retry.  Even when I meet criteria 1-3 I sometimes have to initiate a connected GPS run 3 or 4 times before I get the "Let's go" and, sadly, sometimes the connection doesn't last.

I apologize if you have already tried these.  When people say "I have tried everything" it can be difficult to know what to suggest and what not to suggest.

Thank u for ur info, I have a List of things to get it working. Everything else seems to be ok.
I have,
1. Turned Bluetooth off and on,
2. Reset my phone.
3. Reset my watch.
4. Turned my notifications off and on.
5. Went to my watch settings, turning watch off.
Every time I active, Run or hike on the watch, I get the same message ' check Fitbit app'

Thank u for ur time and effort..

Hi, Tam,

Your list doesn't seem to relate to my message.

1. re Bluetooth: your tracker can only be connected to one device at a time, so if you have been using another device (other than your phone) turn BT off on that device.  BT on your phone should be ON.

2. Internet needs to be connected.  If in doubt, sync your Fitbit immediately before trying to do a GPS connect (but note, it won't connect while it is in the middle of syncing, so make sure it is finished)

3. Your Fitbit needs to be paired to your device.  If in doubt make sure notifications are on.

If all these are met and you get the message "check app" then simply retry to connect.  Sometimes it takes me up to 6 retries before I get connected.

I had the same error message. Bluetooth connection was working as my steps were increasing and all the other data was being collected. I removed and re-added my Blaze Fitbit from Bluetooth on my phone but still the same message. Finally, I changed the Clock Display and switched on ‘Always Connected’ in my Blaze settings from the app on my phone. No issues since.
