Google Hangouts messaging

I would like to be able to add notifications for google hangouts messaging

Hey there @jengrof, welcome to the Community Forums! 🙂

I can help you with this! In order for you to receive notifications from third party apps, you will need to receive a notification from that app having your Blaze connected to the phone you want to receive the notifications on. After you've received the notification, go to the Fitbit app, tap on your tracker at the top of the dashboard, then scroll down to Notifications and here, go down to App notifications. Here, look for Google Hangouts and enable notifications for this app.

Go back to the Dashboard, sync your tracker and after this, you should be receiving notifications from that or any other app.

Hi.  Can this be done with an Alta as well?   I'm not seeing the option in ky dashboard.

which other devices support this type of notification?  what over apps can i get notifications for?  can i reply?  I am an Apple Watch user.  But would love to go back to Fitbit.  you do fitness so much better.  If only your notifications were better.  I use outlook for ios, whatsapp, hangouts, txt.  I would like to reply if I could.  I am eyeing the Versa.  but am would like to know which devices are capable.

Hello @cleellacer under the notification settings, there will be a line of Application Notifications. 

Taping here will let you choose up to 100 apps to send there notifications to the tracker. 

However I believe only the programs under the messaging option your able to reply. 

Personally i would advise the Versa over the Blaze.

Google Hangouts is not showing up in the App list, but i would really like to get hangout notification on my versa.  anymore advise.

Are you looking under the App notifications, I assume your on Android.

The trick was getting the hangouts to show up in the Fitbit app. Have to trigger a notification on the phone first before it shows up. There is small print explaining this but I missed it.

this is not working when I go to notifications it shows me sender only or sender and text but when I get texts on hangouts it’s not showing up on my Fitbit

I can’t find the tracker option. I’ve searched the whole app.
