Heart Rate Monitor - Fitbit Blaze

All,

I guess in the last few weeks I did an update on my FitBit and I still love my fitbit, for now.

Over the last week while in DC on vacation and just today walking outside, and I mean, a good walk, but not a breathing heavy what the heck kind of walk, just a decent walk around my buidling, two laps, maybe a half mile... but anyway....

The heartrate is going insane... my pulse rate is at times from 150-160. The blaze is on my wrist as it always has been, I guess for walking I could tighten it, but the spot I wear it is really not changing and now my pulse is crazy high. Sometimes I would see a 120 and at a fire rescue call I was at 135, which made perfect sense, so you can see how walking around my building and getting 156 or higher seems a bit out of sorts.

I had a stress test last March ('16) and all was good and my rate got to 179 and I mean those folks broke me....so, I know my pulse is NOT 160....

Again, this started recently, maybe last update, any one else experiencing these issues? My Blaze is about 10 months old now.

Thanks,
CJ

It's great to see you around @slingshot202. If your heart rate is not being accurate, I recommend restarting your Blaze and take a look at this post, where you will be able to see some things that might be affecting this reading and some tips to improve it.

I hope this helps, let me know the outcome. Woman Happy

@slingshot202 Wrist-based optical HRMs will sometimes not find your HR (beats per minute, or BPM), and then lock onto the next strongest signal - your steps per minute (SPM). A slow walk with my kids is about 1800 steps per mile, and say 22 minutes, so that is 81 SPM. However you are seeing 150-160 BPM, which is roughly 2x SPM, so its possible that is the reason for the HR you are seeing on Blaze.
