Heart Rate & Calories Burned During Sleep

Hello Fitbit Community! New owner of the Fitbit Blaze here. I have only had the unit for one day now, and while I'm pretty impressed so far, there are a few shortcomings that I've discovered already. I love everything about the tracker, minus the Step Tracking capability, and the poor responsive touch screen. This thing would register steps for almost every minor daily activity I do. From doing the dishes, to washing my hands, brushing my teeth, and the slightest of hand/wrist movements seem to also throw it off. I am sure this has been covered many times already, but I do hope Fitbit fixes this in a future update.

Also the screen is not responsive from sleep mode. It will require me multiple taps before the screen finally wakes. Not all times I like the idea of turning my wrist to display the screen.

Aside from those issues, is there any way to view my Average HR during sleep, as well as Calories burned? I know that the Blaze automatically tracks all of this, but I would like a more detailed graph/layout of sleep analysis that includes Average HR and Calories burned during sleep.

Thanks for tuning in! Have a great weekend!

Hi @DezoRK7 welcome to the Blaze family! 🙂 I would like to ask if you have set the Dominant hand on your tracker's settings? For wrist-based trackers, its important to specify whether you wear the tracker on your dominant or non-dominant wrist:

  • The dominant wrist setting decreases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any over counting of steps when your body is not moving.
  • The non-dominant wrist setting increases the sensitivity of step counting and should reduce any under counting of steps. Non-dominant is the default.

Regarding your issue with the tapping the screen have you tried to restart your tracker? Also currently there is no report providing information about calories burned or heart rate during yous sleep. You can view the heart rate reading from 12 am to 12 am on your Online Dashboard and review the heart rate of the time you where sleeping. Your graph should look similar to this one:

sleepHR.PNG

The detailed sleep information your Fitbit provides is:

Sleepinformation.PNG

And if you have Premium you will be able to get more detailed information, like this report:

sleepreport.PNG

But none of them show your heart rate or calories burned during sleep. You can visit our Feature Request board and share your idea!

Thanks for stoping by! 🙂

@DezoRK7 with the tap try a couple light tapps near the edge.. I found that the tap to wake the Blaze up is different than the tap to change pages.

To wake up it seems it uses the CUZ denser since it wakes up when tapping the frame twice.

The tap to change screens is more of a touch/release, it has a touch screen and works best when treated like like the touch screen on the phone.

I still find the easiest is to make sure the forearm is near horizontal to the floor and then a twist of the wrist.
