Having the exact same issue this morning.
Blaze has worked like a champ for two months, it charged over night. Took it out of the cradle, inserted it in the band and headed out for a workout. Heart rate will not display. Restarted blaze three times, heart rate displayed for approximately 3 minutes. But then went off and failed to display again, I have restarted it again with no luck. It appears one green light on the back of the blaze flashing when not on wrist. As you're looking at the rear of the blaze the light on the right flashes.

Same problem here, Blaze has worked for the past 2 months and yesterday the heart rate stop working. Green lights are flashing intermittently on auto and continuously on always On.

Yesterday afternoon the heart rate function was working if the bpm was over 80 and today no green lights at all. The heart rate functionality seems dead.

Had the exact same problem a few weeks ago.
Had to contact Fitbit and they sent a new one out right away.
Apparently its a common problem.
