Hot Temperature icon on screen

So I know it was hot in the UK yesterday but didn't think it was hot enough to overheat my husband's Fitbit Blaze. It is now showing a hot temperature icon on the watch screen. I can't get it to restart using the back on bottom button and obviously since the screen isn't coming on we can't restart it that way either. The watch was bought in October 2017 and we haven't had any problems with it.

Any suggestions on how to fix it would be much appreciated.

37uk,

You can wait to see what the Fitbit Mods will say, but you probably won't be thrilled with their response seeing as you're out of warranty. Since it's out of warranty, IF you've ever done delicate electronic/mechanical work, I'd recommend you read this https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Blaze/Temperature-symbol-on-display/m-p/3620505#M119171 and pay particular note to post #36 by ZokyS and #37 by me.  If you have access to the small tools needed (#3 Torx and #000 Phillips bit), it's not too bad.

Good Luck,

Ok so I'd also messaged Fitbit and got a reply from them. Had to send a picture of the screen and give them so other information. Didn't expect a reply over the weekend but late last night they emailed offering us a replacement Blaze or 50% off a new Fitbit. My husband likes the Blaze and finds it easy to work so we went with the replacement.

According to Fitbit's guarantee terms if you bought your Fitbit in the UK or in the (EEA) European Economic area then a 2 year warranty applies, so you will still be covered for another 2-3 months.

DebbitTMK,

Thank you for clarifying that. I know the standard line I read here is once it's past 12 months, there IS no more warranty, and the best that Fitbit will do is offer you 25% off a new model.

It's good to see that at least Fitbit was able to offer a solution.  While that's helpful, I suspect that just means those of you "across the pond" are going to be faced with the issue one year later in your ownership when your two year warranty expires.  Of course, Fitbit KNOWS it's a design flaw and many who have had this problem out of warranty are a bit upset with Fitbit for not owning up and making good on satisfying their customers.

By the way, for those of you out of warranty where ever you are, there IS a solution. Read posts #36 & #37 on https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Blaze/Temperature-symbol-on-display/m-p/3620505#M119171 for more information on how to resolve the issue of the "Hot Temperature" icon stuck on the screen.
