It did just appear for me this morning as well, and it appeared without an app update that I noticed.  It is a cool little addition, but you set a goal and it wants to you make each hour to satisfy the goal.  So I set 7am to 9pm, which is the 14 hour max, and it looks like you cannot set a goal like, "achieve 10 of the 14 hours".  Seems like it is currently all or nothing.

You're not the only one. It's also useless to me - weekdays, my day starts at 5:30 am and ends generally sometime after 10 pm - a max range of 14 consecutive hours doesn't work for me. It would be better if there was a setting to track "waking hours hourly activity", as my weekend schedule is generally different than weekday.

If I can't have the range or setting I need, I'm wondering if there's a way to turn it off on my phone dashboad. It's a waste of screen real estate.

Same here in terms of the weekend/weekday start time.  Maybe they will work on having a weekend and week day section that allows you to have separate time-frames for each.  7a-9p for weekedays, 9a-8p for weekends as an example.

Still, if we don't like it we can remove it from the dashboard.....I like the concept right now though.

How do I remove it from my phone dashboard? (Using a Charge HR rather than a Blaze, though that shouldn't make any difference to the display in the Android app)

Not really much used to me when working nights but good when I'm off keeping a track of my day!

Touch and hold it for a couple of seconds, then drag it to the red "X" on the right side of the dashboard.

Thanks - worked a charm. Never thought (or had the patience?) to just hold down on the parameter 'button"

Hmmm...I have a Blaze and have been waiting for this feature.  But I don't have this on my mobile app.  On the browser I can put a tile on for this but I can't edit or set anything on it.

Is this not being rolled out to everyone at the same time?

Fitbit have now released a help file regarding this change:

This FAQ says "you can adjust the number of hours per day and the days of the week you aim to meet your goal.", but the instructions that follow only explain how to adjust the hours per day with no mention of how to change the days of the week. Sigh.

Good spot! If you can tailor the days of week then it's not obvious in the Android app.

It's definitely not there now as an option, I have hopes that they will soon.

FIVE STARS ON NEW HOURLY ACTIVITY!

I find it an excellent addition for those of us doing desk work.  Tap around it shows how you've done in the past.  Even tho I've met step goal, hourly activity is not so good.

Looking forward to filling in the Red Dots 🙂

THANKS AGAIN FITBIT - Happy Customer since 2009

I do hope this feature appears on devices in a firmware update, currently using the Blaze.

Adding a daily challenge for this would be fun too!

Another thing is that you can't extend the hours past midnight.  I get up late and stay up late.  So, I wanted to set this to be active from 11 AM to 1 AM.  But I couldn't get it to go past 11 PM.

The great thing that I like when fitbit releases something like this is that it crunches the data from the beginning of your fitbit-time.  I just wish it "locked-in" the goal.  For instance, if tomorrow I make the hourly change from 7a-9p.....to 8a-8p, the Fitbit currently changes ALL past days to that new 8a-8p.  I wish it kept that from the date changed forward.  But still, very nice little addition.

Hi Koshka, my boss had the hourly activity appear on his iphone this morning, but I dont have it on my android phone as yet.  I can access it online though and it shows my hourly activity there.  Hopefully it will roll out shortly on the phone. 🙂

You probably won't be able to get it to carry over from day to day, but you can set it up to midnight. I have mine set from 2:00 pm to 12:00 am. I wanted a ten hour stretch to make it easy when thinking percentages.

Right now, I'm recovering from ankle surgery, but it was interesting to see what I was doing prior to the surgery and I think it may help in seeing progress as I heal.

There is always going to be some aspect that doesn't cater to each and every little thing that we want, but most of the features on a Fitbit and in particular, the Blaze is good enough to use a little imagination to tweak it into greatness.

I opened my app yesterday at lunch and the reminder to move was there. I usually don't sit still for an hour, so I am anxious to actually sit still for 50 minutes and see if my Blaze reminds me it is time to move.

I noticed this in my iPhone app yesterday but I haven't noticed any notification of any kind on my Blaze to remind me that I've not moved for an hour.  Is that there as well or is it just the visual on the app?
