How Blaze calculates splits?

I use my (Android) phone when I walk and I track the walk from the phone, with cues at every 0.5 miles. After the second cue (i.e. after 1 mile), I'd expect the average pace to be the same as the elapsed time, but it rarely, if ever, is.

I think what it might be doing is taking the average of the two 0.5 miles splits it already has rather than calculating the total average from the start (i.e. total distance so far/elapsed time). An average of averages is not the same as an overall average. Can anyone explain how this works, please?

It's great to see you around @ChrisAtkins.

Can you please provide me with some screenshots of this information by following the instructions provided in this post? In the meantime, take a look at the How do I use exercise apps and modes on my Fitbit device? article.

Hope to hear from you soon. Woman Happy

Screenshots won’t help you understand my question, since the information
I’m asking about isn’t on the screen, it’s provided by the audible cues
while I’m walking. I completely understand how to use the app to track my
walks. I thought my question was clear; if not, please tell me what you
don’t understand and I’ll clarify in a response.
