I have a job where I walk a lot, but I push a cart the entire time, so my arms aren't actually moving (which is how I thought the Fitbit devices calculated steps), so I'm not sure how to use this to calculate how many steps I actually take in a day. I've looked at wearing it on my ankle, but apparently that only counts half the steps, and it wouldn't fit right, so I don't want to take that total and double it, but I don't want to put it in my pocket and have the touchscreen affected by perspiration and scratches. Any ideas on if I can actually do this using the Blaze?

A warm welcome to the Community @dljf341e.
About the count step, you are right. The Blaze will register your information based on your arm movement. If you are pushing a cart and want to know how many steps you did during the day, the best thing you can do is to place your pebble inside a pocket. You can also measure your stride length.
I hope this helps, catch you later.
