How to disable notifications in the app?

How do I get rid of the inane notifications that appear when I click on the notifications button at the bottom of the app. They say such things as "nailed it! You met your step goal for today," or "almost there! Get 2430 steps more to meet your daily goal."

It's great to have you here @Maryayden! Whenever you open the app, you get these notifications. You can disable them by going to your app > click on account > advanced settings > scroll down and you'll see "Push notifications" > swipe right and it should remove the notifications in your app.

Hope this helps. Robot Happy

Apparently I don't have "push notifications" on my advanced screen.

Welcome to the Community @Maryayden! I apologize for the instructions above, because they are for Android users. Since, you're using an iOS the instructions are a little bit different. You need to turn off the notifications from your phone's settings. To do so:

- Go to the phone's settings

- Scroll down until you'll see Fitbit app

- Turn off notifications there

Hope this helps.

I'm having the same issue.  I'd like to disable the in-app notifications completely.  I open the app and the notifications appear.  I don't want this.  How do I turn them off entirely?

Nope! Directions didn't work. Turned off notifications in phone settings several days ago. I still get those inane notifications every day, at least twice. "Nailed it" "almost there. Get 3595 more steps to hit your daily goal" "you crushed it" "overachiever". I'm not in elementary school!

I have the same problem. How can I get rid of these messages and stop them in the future?

Same issue - we are not talking about iOS level notifications, rather then in-app ones that appear under the "Notifications" icon on the bottom of the screen of the app

just saw this. I had the same issue and remembered from another website that you needed to log in to your Fitbit account on a computer (so not through the app). Thus:

1) Log in to account on a computer

2) Click on the gear symbol upper right corner

3) Give it a few moments and your Fitbit device should appear under the gear. Click on your device OR the Settings option

4) A screen should appear starting with your Personal Info. You should see a "Notifications" tab second one down on the left column. Click on that

5) You can now manage the notifications you get on both your phone and via email

Hope this works for you all.

I should add that I have a Fitbit Surge but I can't imagine the online environment looking any different for Blaze users etc.

I think that stopped the notifications, but how can I clear the ones that are already there?  There are hundreds!!!

A warm welcome to the Community @grammy10! The notification center displays the most recent 100 notifications, these ones can't be deleted as it's the way the app is intended to work.

However, I found this idea Let us delete in-app notifications/Messages. You can vote and comment to support it, these suggestions are viewed by our engineers and developers.
