I have "Workout" as the 3rd of my shortcuts, 1 and 2 are "Run" and "Walk". When I try and "Log Previous" for a Workout activity, it only presents Run/Walk/Pilates as options for activity. If I type "Workout" it doesn't exist in the list, only "Tabata Workout".
What is going on here?? I have the latest software.

Hi, @johndal, when you use the "log previous" function in the app it gives you the ability either to log any custom activity you have already created, or to log any activity in the Fitbit database. As you have noticed, it does not use the same lists as your exercise shortcuts (where "workout" is listed as a general, catch all activity).
If you want to create a manual log for a workout, rather than using the exercise shortcuts on your Fitbit, you will need first to create a "custom activity". You can't create the activity in the app, although once created you can always access it in the app and log it from there.
To create your activity go to the web based Fitbit program, choose activity log and in the bottom right hand corner create your custom workout. You can call it "workout", or if you would like to distinguish it from workouts automatically tracked using your exercise shortcuts you could give it a name like "MyWorkout" (or whatever).
If you dont regularly use the web based Fitbit program, you will find a link to the web-based Fitbit program at the top of every page in the Community forums (top right). Click on "dashboard" then on "log" then "activities" and scroll down to a box at the bottom right where you will find an option to create a custom activity,
After you have created it on the web based program, as I said, it will be there for you in the app (just type in the same search box where you found Tabata Workout), so you won't have to use the web based program again -- until the next time you want to create a new custom activity!
I hope this helps! Please post again if my instructions are not clear. There is always someone here to help.

Welcome to the Community @johndal! The exercise shortcuts (multisport) mode on Fitbit Blaze lets you see real-time stats and a workout summary for the exercise you select, then saves the information in your exercise history.
In this case, you have workout because there's people that won't just do the ones that are there. Sometimes, they do Zumba or any other different exercise so you can use workout and the info you want. However, it's not an activity that you can log from your app.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

That's a bit naff. I don't see why you are limited in the exercises that you can retrospectively say that you were doing in any particular period of time.

I do a bit of gym work - a mixed set of back stretching, a couple of 10 min slots on aerobics machines, some assisted pullups, press-ups. General fitness stuff. I just want to log it as "Workout", which is probably the best description. I didn't track it at the start yesterday, so I tried to retrospectively log it, but I can't. The only workout activity available in the app is "Tabata Workout"

I added custom activities on the web and used the same time period I was in a body pump class. So when I added it the app logged 41 calories no matter what exercise type I used.. So what am I supposed to do with that? Guess how many calories I burned?

Hi, @Asdffgg , the Fitbit is telling you the number of calories it th8nks you burned in that time period. It is really not all that good at calculating calories for activities that are not step based and do not consistently raise your heartrate whether they are manually or automatically logged. In this case the best work around is to google average calorie burn for your activity and then log that based on the duration. Not quite a guess, but the Fitbit doesn’t do it for you in this case.
