Intermittent step count

Have an odd issue with both my current Blaze and the previous HR would do it as well where I can be walking and the step count stops going up for a period of time, usually a few minutes.  Interestingly enough when this occurs if I notice and walk up a flight of stairs or pump the arm that has the fitbit above my head a few times it will seem to restart it but just walking around does not.  When it restarts it will jump a small number of steps (9-16) but certainly not the amount that I actually walked in this time.

This has never occured while I am running, only when I have been walking around the house.

At first I had thought that maybe it was syncing and was queuing steps but turning off the bluetooth on both my phone and tablet I was able to recreate the issue.

Hi there @bwackerbarth! I'm happy to see new faces in the Community! 🙂

I can suggest restarting your tracker to see if this makes any difference. To restart your tracker, press and hold the left and lower right buttons for 10-12 seconds until your Blaze shuts down and comes back on with the Fitbit logo.

After that, keep an eye on your tracker and see if there is any improvement.

Let me know how it goes!

I've tried this previously, probably should have mentioned that.  Happy to give it anouther whirl and see if there is any change but I didn't notice it last time.

Overall I would say this is an minor annoyance more than anything.  The main reason that I bring it up was that this started with my Charge HR, then about six months latter it stopped reading my heart rate, then other areas stopped working, like the hourly step count wouldn't work although the main step count remained.

Reset does not change the issue with the lost steps.

Looks like this is far from a unique issue:

Thanks for getting back @bwackerbarth

I'm sorry that didn't help. I would say that at this point, you can get in touch with the Support Team for them to take a look and see what could be causing this. They'll be happy to help you out.
