When ever I run after work in Keswick, although my Blaze has connected to my phone, it never tracks the run properly. It's driving me insane !!

Is the app running during your run?

Sorry, but you'll need to supply a lot more detail about what you're doing and what's not working for people to have a chance at coming up with something helpful (if that's what you're looking for).
what sort of exercise mode are you in?
GPS or not?
etc
etc

It shows it has connected and tells me it's ready to go, looking at it throughout its tracking my steps but not correct distance?

Sorry if I did not explain myself to you!!!!
I sync my blaze & phone before my run, the blaze then tells me it is ready to go...
signal strenght is poor where I am so it's not tracking the route correctly or distance, the map once finished just shows lots of squiggly lines

I live in Toronto. I shut that off and have the watch track everything else but GPS. I couldn't tell you if I have that issue. Most of my walking is done indoors. I only live 20 minutes away from work.
I'm going to guess you mean cell phone signal strength. Up there, I've had my phone switch to Roaming in some places and I set my phone to shut the data off while I am roaming. GPS however, I haven't had an issue with.

I ask again: Do you leave the app running in background during your runs? If not, the phone often disconnects after switching off the display and turning to standby. Leave the app running in background and it keeps the connection. If the GPS signal is poor then let your phone also use cell stations.

True the app needs to run. but if she's using Android, her phone's settings have to be set on High Accuracy, which uses GPS, Cell Phone Towers, Bluetooth and WiFi or any combination thereof to determine her exact location.
She can put the phone into sleep mode and GPS should still track her run. If she keeps the screen on, that will eat away at her battery. We don't need that.
She's also from my neck of the woods, (if I'm correct) and I know that area well. Cell phone towers aren't as plentiful as they are in Toronto. They are spaced further apart. Here in Toronto, you'll find cell phone towers and cell phone repeaters everywhere.
