Losing steps/minutes/calories after syncing

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

Every now and then, I will try and sync my Blaze with my android phone and during the sync, I will lose some steps, floors climbed, minutes active, miles etc.  It will usually only reduce one or two of them and the rest sync normally

This then updates the watch with the lower numbers.

It has happened again tonight.  I had just over 17,000 steps, over 8 miles, 2,200 calories burned, 58 floors and roughly 120 active minutes.  Steps, Miles & Floors synced correctly, but I have dropped down to 1,300 calories and only 12 minutes active.

It only happens once every couple of weeks, but it is so frustrating.  Thinking of just switching to my Garmin as my day to day watch.

Welcome to the Fitbit Community @djm25djm25 ! I am sorry for the delayed response.

I am sorry to hear about the issue you're experiencing with losing your data after syncing your Fitbit Blaze with your Android phone. I totally understand how you are feeling as you're working on your fitness goals and wouldn't want to lose your tracked activity. If you haven't done so, I'd like you to restart your device as described in this help article: How do I restart my Fitbit device? This will refresh your device internally. Please monitor your tracker after that and let me know how it goes.

Please keep me posted!

I’m having the same issue with my Charge 3 and iPhone. I have restarted my charge 3 at least 3 times today and it’s still having the issue.
attached screenshots are minutes apart. I had to hit my 8k step goal 4 times before it would stop disappearing!
first time I hit only on my watch then when it sync’d it took about 100steps away. Hit it a second time with phone in hand then when I forced a sync it took away about 40 of the steps I just watched count up. Hit it a 3rd time and made sure to go beyond only to have it drop AGAIN!

Just went to the App Store to post a 1 star review. It’s awash with hate for the latest update and TONS of people having serious issues with syncing and loss of data during sync-ing. Hopefully it gets fixed soon!

I’m having the same issue. It was happening frequently on my Fitbit Flex, but now I have a brand new Inspire 2 and it happens occasionally. This isn’t normally the situation (I don’t normally change time zones), but this particular instance, I changed time zones, gained an hour, and lost about 100 cal. I have no idea what my steps were before I change the time zone and synced my Fitbit. It does happen though when I am in the same time zone.
