So with a new year comes a new push at the gym. I’ve had the blaze for year and half and no real issues with it. However with me hitting the gym harder I’m looking at the workouts in more detail post workout, looking to gains/improvements. Recently I’ve noticed what the blaze is reporting as my HR couldn’t be true ie I’m gasping for breath and the blaze says I’m doing 110-120bpm for example. So I bought the polar H10 Bluetooth HR chest strap (used to use polar chest and watches years ago). When doing workouts I’ve been comparing the blaze’s HR traces to that of the polar chest strap. On the treadmill especially they aren’t even close to matching. I’ve tried wearing the blaze looser and higher up the wrist/arm but it doesn’t come close. I’m only running at 7-8kph so hardly flat out (try telling that to my lungs haha).
Is it possible the blaze has become faulty or do I have to get used to either no HR or a reading that’s significantly less than what it actually is. For example I know my heart rate has hit 180bpm on the polar and I believe that to be true based on exercise and also the treadmills HR handles yet the blaze is 120 or so.
Ps I’ve got pictures comparing the 2 but can’t seem to upload them.

i think ive figured out the links. as can be seen the top is Polar with a pretty perfect HR trace. the Blaze's on the bottom is just noise basically.
note this was a 2 mins on 2 mins off routine on the treadmill, gentle walk into a steady jog repeated 5 times

For adding photos let's go to the getting started board and the thread on adding photos.
One thing to be aware of is that the Polar looks at the same signal that controls the heart, where Fitbit looks at the changes in the volume of blood.
