Manually adding treadmill adds more steps

Hi there. I've been running on the treadmill lately and when I start the exercise in treadmill mode, it's not accurate. It only gives me a portion of the mileage I've run, so I stopped doing that. When I manually enter the exercise after the fact, it gives me a lot more steps than I've actually earned. I added today's treadmill 5K and I immediately gained 2100 extra steps! This is throwing off my step count and puts me further ahead in the Workweek Hustle than I should be. I've been reading on various forums that manually entering an exercise is supposed to replace any stats from that time frame, however this is not happening for me. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You dont do both. I just go with what ever the treadmill says.

If you are holding on to the bars it will not count accurately. Also you not covering an exact distance because you are not moving forward.

I don't do both... I started out doing the treadmill activity, but when that turned out to be inaccurate and eating my miles despite changing/updating my stride, I gave up with it and instead turned to manually entering my treadmill activity with what the treadmill readout says I did. I do not hold onto the handrails and move my arms just as I would on an outdoor walk, but it gives me extra steps because even though the treadmill says I've gone 3.1 miles, my FitBit thinks I've only gone x miles, again shorting me. It's all very frustrating.

A warm welcome to the Community @danielleg13 and @WendyB thanks for stopping by.

I appreciate the efforts in trying to fix this issue. Have you tried to adjust your stride length information? If you haven't, I recommend checking this post and follow the instructions there in order to do this. Also, my recommendation for you is to log this activity by directly selecting it from your Blaze.

Let me know the outcome. Woman Happy
