Mapmyrun map & altitude recording with gps?

Hi everyone,
Hoping for some help. I purchased a blaze thinking that the gps meant when out hiking & running in the hills it would record distance, altitude & map stats like the mapmyrun app does, without killing my iPhone battery, but I can't see how to do this? I thought as it said it synced & was compatible tech it would be pretty easy but im stuck. Thanks in advance! Gil

@gil4316 Welcome to the Community! When you want to track your exercises using GPS you need to connect your phone to the Blaze, you can learn more about this by checking Connected GPS information.
