In order to recieve the call and text notifications on the Blaze from your phone, does you phone physically have to be on your person or within a certain distance? Or could you be 5-6 miles away from your phone and still get notifications? Also does the Blaze show you the message content or no?

It has to be within bluetooth range of your phone. So your phone has to be kinda close but not exactly on you.
Blaze will show you the messeage content but you still need your phone to reply.

Bluetooth was never ment to be further than 30 feet, your phone wont work when 2 miles away from the tower.

Always have the phone with me, it can come in handy when needing to make a call (calling road assistance (gets a yearly maintenance but never know what might come up like a tire not being able to repair with the repair kit or something), hopefully not needed but when being injured and not able to move.. or seeing someone in need with no one else around, being able to call a ambulance,..).. it can make a huge difference.
It may also come in handy for example when someone needs to reach you and it's very important..
