I would expect the music control to work for a lot more phone's than ate able to sync through, I say this because there is nothing fancy here in that it is simply being used as an input device.
The Music app needs to be playing music, it should note work.
One let is that not all media players currently support this feature.

I thought the problem was that it just didn't work.
Some iPhone users found that turning BT off/on resolved this. On Android I need to disconnect and repair.
