Hey there @FlexinFit! I'm glad to see you in the Community.
I just tried to control the music on my phone while connected to a speaker as well and it did work fine. I'd say, try to restart your phone bluetooth or try to unpair your car bluetooth and pair it back again and try the same with your Blaze and see if this makes any improvement.
