Music controls - stop working during run

I have paired my phone and Blaze using bluetooth classic. The music controls work for the first couple of songs (or part of my run/walk - i'm not sure whether it is a time thing or number of song thing). However later into my activity the controls no longer work. They appear on my screen and show the correct song, however nothing happens when the forward and back buttons are touched. The buttons light up as if they have been selected, however the song doesn't change. I'm not entirely sure but I think the volume buttons also stop working at this time.

Is anyone else experiencing this? Or know what I might be doing wrong/what I can do to fix it?

@danikat @DeborahS @AdamMSC @xpengy A warm welcome to the Community! There seems to be an issue with some Android devices that the music control stops working. In this case I would like you to perform a hard reset on the device. This can be accomplished by holding back (left) button and select (lower right) button until the tracker resets.

Rest assure our team is investigating this.

@danikat What phone are you paring it with?

@Eagle1 I am pairing it with a Samsung Galaxy 6. Thank you for the link - my Blaze stays connected the whole time. However if I disconnect and reconnect the Blaze it usually starts working again. I haven't tried it mid run however as I don't want to be stopping my run/walk to fix it.

I've had the same problem, only fix I can find is to disconnect and reconnect, which is pretty annoying.

@xpengy that is frustrating that you have the same problem!

I am hoping for a solution/fix as I can't disconnect and reconnect mid run to fix the music controls and I really would love to use the music controls!

This happened to me on my run last night too.  I had the Blaze Classic paired when I started and music controls works.  After awhile, they didn't work anymore and when I finished my run, I saw that somehow the Blaze Classic has become 'unpaired' by itself?  As soon as I repaired the device the music controls began working again.  I have an LG G2 phone.  The music controls are one of the huge benefits of the Blaze in my opinion, so when this gets fixed, it will be great!

@SilviaFitbit Thank you! This has seemed to fix the problem 🙂 Controls are working longer (haven't stopped working yet) and I'm also able to open the music app from my Blaze by pressing play 🙂

Thanks again

You can test it anytime. Pressing and holding the top right button works from any screen.

So I tried it and thought it had worked but apparently it's still a bit wonky. I like this tracker but I just hope Fitbit is willing to do the work to sand off some of the jagged edges that are making it kind of unintuitive to get started with. I'm fairly tech savy and getting everything working is proving to be a bit of a chore. I feel a little concerned for folks less adept. All in all I am happy and feel this device has a lot of promise so I'm greatly looking forward to all the wonderful improvements that will hopefully come in the near future.

I had the same problem during my run. I wanted to skip to the next song and I could figure out how to without interrupting the run function.
