New Blaze won't charge

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

As title states.

Blaze will not charge in cradle irrespective of the usb port I use.

It 'clicks' when I seat it and I've tried powering it down and back up.

This appears to be an issue with multiple new users - very discouraging.

Sounds like you tried the typical issues.  Take it back where you got it and ask for a replacement.

Most of the issues ive noticed @acgriff are from the user not knowing what to expect. While the setup message is being displayed, tge only notifacation will be a slight vibration while plugging or unplugging the unit. My qu3stion is how do you know it hasn't charged? Unless you recently teied to continue with the setup you will not.

As for charging a usb port on the compputer, or a UL Rated usb charger that plugs into the wall may be used.

How do I know it isn't charged?

The app will not complete the update and states that it isn't charged.

The fitbit itself continues to show the 'fitbit/set.com' text.

It's been plugged into a charger for three hours with nothing.

I've turned it off and back on as others have stated.

Not sure why I posted here as I know the answer is to send it back in and get a new one but that's a hassle and I wanted someone from fitbit to see this - I cannot remember the last time I ever purchased anything that didn't work out of the box and this seems to be an issue multiple people have had with this product.

I don't labor under the delusion that everything I buy will always be flawless, but why should I believe that the next one I get will work based on my current experience and based on multiple testimonials from other users experiencing the same?

Thanks for your reply, I appreciate you taking the time to try and help me.

And what is it plugged into? Did you feelna vibration when plugging it in.

How recent did you try to finish the setup. Did you try while the tracker is on its charger and plugged in?

To a computer.  No vibration.

I tried the setup again 5 minutes ago.  Yes, still did not work.

When putting the Blaze on the charger in addition to a vibration a battery icon should appear for a few moments when the connectors engage.  If it is charging the icon will show mostly empty but a portion -- representing the current charge level -- will have a shrinking and expanding animation.  i sometimes need to move the tracker In the cradle a bit to get the connections to line up -- you can sort of feel it click in if you've got it right.

There is more information and a video at this link.

Also, some laptop computers may not have enough power on the port to charge the tracker.

I just received my Blaze this afternoon and have the exact same problem. I have trouble shooted every step, watched several videos including demos by users on how they charge the Blaze. There appears to be a defect in the cradle manufacture. The depth of the cradle appears to be too great to allow contact between the pins and the tracker. I contacted fitbit customer service by email because their phone line is already closed. No response as of yet.
